NEW NORM: 24/7 Fight-or-Flight
WHAT has become the pattern in your day-to-day living that has taken root creating YOUR NEW ACCEPTED NORMAL being a continual fight or flight lifestyle???
During the cave man years when a lion was chasing you that was flight OR flight. When a deer in the woods is slurping water from a brook it is relaxed; WHEN A MOUNTAIN LION chases the deer and the deer runs = FIGHT or FLIGHT….HOWEVER, then after outrunning the mountain lion the deer returns to slurping the water relaxed.
OUR HORMONAL RESPONSES TO STRESS CANNOT MANAGE CONTINUAL FIGHT-OR-FLIGHT.
I’ve mentioned many times: If we don’t take care of our wellness, we will be taking care of our illness.
Coping strategies, self-soothing and relaxation techniques have gone to the wayside as the majority of us humans are living in a 24-7 state of fight-or-flight stress, anxiety, depression, overthinking, overwhelm, physical disease, mental anguish, emotional despair and spiritually empty.
Bad hair day, missed the meeting, washing machine on the fritz, road detour and late for work, kids home from school, to do list endless….
Let us breathe here. Inhale. Exhale. Take a moment to be still. Now. DO it 11 times.

Continually remembering our old stories from yesterdays are the wounds that exert control over us by diminishing our energy --- places, objects, people, memories and unfinished business that binds us onto the dead zone of our past.
ASTROLOGICALLY, with the recent New Moon and Solar Eclipse, and the FULL MOON and Lunara Eclipse this weekend, there are energies around the planet Earth --- and thus affecting all inhabitants of the Earth, that are creating a LOT OF ENERGIES contributing to emotional flux on many levels. ALSO, there is a culmination of shifts from past months and that will continue for several more.
ASTROLOGY IS SCIENCE BASED. Whether one studies day to day shifts, OR the general monthly or seasonal theme of transitions--- an overall recommended theme right now:
CONSIDER WORKING WITH SOMEONE TO GO DEEPER INTO YOUR SELF.
Becoming more hungry with inner longing, yearning to be filled up, stocked up, FULL…of what? IMAGINE wildly what it might be like becoming a seeker of your inner light, filling up your ‘’stores’’
Pause. Rest. Be still. We all have areas in our lives where we yearn for more. I don’t know, but you do. And now is good a time as any to begin again.
This season, rather than whining about the dark and the cold, I invite you to consider giving yourself permission for Self-Care practices. THEY are the mortar that holds the day together –
Actually, they hold our mind-heart-body-spirit TOGETHER
The fear of making a different choice: behavior, activity, practices, people ---the fear may not go away.
YOU MAY JUST HAVE TO BEGIN A NEW WAY of Being YOU - SCARED.
PUT ON YOUR BRAVE> YOUR FIERCE
What I know for sure:
Humans need to share who they are to be heard and validated. A Spiritual Director-Counselor is a sacred witness who listens without judgment and illumines your path toward your whole-ness.
A Spiritual Warrior is one who has learned to listen, REALLY LISTEN to their ‘internal whisperings’ AND to follow through with what they hear with courage. Confident. No second guessing. One who has practiced, prioritized and come to Know: His Self. Her Self.
It takes FOCUS and CONSISTENCY to Become who we really are. (Not what others have told us to be).
HOW ARE YOU FEELING?
HOW WOULD YOU RATHER FEEL?
What are you willing to do about that? ABOUT YOU?
