FEB 2023 What time is it?

A time to gather together, to go within,

To Be Still,

and become more AWARE

of who we are meant to be.

FEBRUARY 1st The  energies of the  Full Moon are on the cusp of February’s Imbolc, Candlemas, the feast day for Saint Brigid of Ireland, Ground Hog Day —- along with multiple other days celebrated around the northern hemisphere.

This half-way point on February 1st,  between the longest night of darkness (winter solstice 12/21/22) and the equal day and night forthcoming (spring or vernal equinox 3/20/23), is a symbolic time for the Return of the Soul  depicted as the feminine

In the western world, we tend to get caught up in material pursuits and the soul is forgotten most of the time---EVEN when we never feel truly at home to ourselves without that connection.

With the feminine energies of the full moon, now is a time we get our second wind.  We are still able to embrace going-into-the-darkness with the light of day peeking forth just a little bit longer daily,

YET, we can use the darkness for us to go deeper, to nurture,  to nourish, to nestle and BE. Take this time to tap into,  more deeply,  an aspect of our subconscious where we’ve put something of us ‘’to sleep’’, Let us awaken into us, an energy into our life, part of who and what we are meant to BE during our time on earth.

Let us reach deep for that smoldering ember held closely --  to keep from being snuffed out, and

catch-a-fire from deep within our soul-flame.

Candles and fires on Feb 1st are symbolically honoring.

Wash your hands and bathe your face in salt water.

LIGHT A CLEAN HEARTH FIRE.

Light many candles from 1 central candle.

Reflect on your hopes for the coming year:

  •  What do you hope to accomplish

  • What are you passionate about

  • What ‘waste’ from your realm of consciousness do you want to pluck out,  like a garden weed

  • What new seeds do you wish to plant?

Write them down, making them concrete in some way so on LAMMAS (August 2nd – the festival of the first harvest) you can look back to see  what progress you’ve made.
