HARVESTING for our ‘winter stores’

October:  The Harvest Moon

October 9th is the Full Moon --- the Harvest Moon. Called this name as it is pretty much universal that farmers complete the harvesting for the majority of their crops during this time.

For contemplation during this month of October, a time of the “Harvest Moon’’ I ask:

What type of harvest have you:

collected,  garnered,  gathered, pulled together, assembled or ?

What is it that you would really like to reap in your life?

  • What fields have you put in with your work, time and attention toward?

  • What fields have your fed?

  • What fields have sown that which yields you thoughts and feelings of a good harvest?   A good life?

According to Merriam-Webster:

o   A Good Harvest combines are ploughing through golden fields of wheat, barley, and oats, while trucks are being loaded with potatoes, tomatoes, cucumbers and eggplants. This is highlight in the farming calendar when what has been sown can finally be reaped.

o   God says about harvest, to his disciples, 'the harvest is plentiful but the workers are few. Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field. '”

Imagine to sow acceptance, awareness, understanding on a conscious level ---- Perhaps aliveness,  motivation, sincerity on a subconscious level --- Or on a physical level to feel

At Choice:  in-tune-with, balanced, fulfilled, calm, quiet and at peace.  Safe.

We each have an individual or personal harvest that might include:  self-love and appreciation, self-care practices for balance, clarity and calm, self-healing care, soul care, ease of coping with change and transition, morning and bedtime rituals for inner guidance, releasing negativity/pessimism, clearing out the past and revitalizing present moments.   Many opportunities.

In our family and friend circles harvests could include:  seeing and accepting others as they are, creating and maintaining boundaries that are respectful, drama and nonsense free, releasing obligation and guilt and opening the heart from a higher vibration of love, listening to inner guidance and following those whispers that are unlike our own.

Within our work, community and social lives our harvests could include making a list and reviewing it thoroughly, heartfelt, and paying full attention to our sensory markers.

What do I need?    What do I want?     What ‘calls’ to me?

What do I NOT want?

These questions are not  ‘one & done’  ---these are opportunities for daily  contemplation and inner dialogue with Self,  throughout our continuing life journey. Remember our LIFE is like an ONION:  many layers affecting other layers of our emotions and coping abilities.

For many, NEEDS go beyond food, shelter and clothing.  Every human needs to be listened to, be heard, and receive unconditional validation for their life experiences. And there is encouragement, understanding and appreciation that goes far beyond what most humans are willing or unable to open their hearts to.

WANTS can be endless.  Rather than clinging onto old stories that exaggerate and embellish ‘truths’ as we think we remember them, filled with attack and antagonism, anger, hurt, resentment and hostilities and loss --- grief and guilt, indifference and disconnection offer only NO CHOICE…

Wants go way, way higher than any tangible and material stuff.  It’s like being in the PENTHOUSE:  A room with a spectacular view, fresh air, quiet….NOT the first floor view with traffic congestion, garbage pickup and no view of the river, lake, mountains or oceans and stars. It costs for a better view.  It costs each floor you go up.  It costs time, energy and focusing on priorities with a view of grandeur --- which includes paying higher rent, utilities, elevator, parking and doorman.

WHAT CALLS YOU?!?!?  What are your hearts’ desires?  Can you hear the whispers?  Or was it so long ago that the whispers of your heart and your soul you cannot even  remember? Summer has gone by --- when did you say “”Oh! I’ve always wanted to do that!”” Or, what do you continually return to for a favorite past-time, place or WISH YOU COULD __fill__in__the__blank?    What makes you feel aliveness and excitement?

Those soul whispers do not speak the same language.  Not the same phrasing.  Not the same tone.  Not similar words.  It may be a physical sensation, or other type of marker. And for sure there is no defending or justifying,  it’s solid and its supportive for your goodness.   Always.  All ways.  It’s never too late to get YOUR groove on.

What do you NOT WANT:  not any longer, no more, sick and tired, not working???             It takes focus, prioritizing and intentional determination to release this stuff!

Use any word that suits you:

let go    surrender   give it up   sacrifice    pull out the roots

no longer feed it     starve it     drown it    burn it

Sanity Insanity

Same actions and behaviors yield same results.

How are you feeling?

How would you rather feel?

What are you willing to do to get that?

Let us think about those two ‘relations’ of shame AND guilt: some of the biggest energies that hold us hostage, shackled and bound in our past.

Whether they are referred to as ‘gremlins’ or ‘monkey mind’…EVEN WHEN WE DECIDE we so very much know and need and want to get rid of these energy patterns, that saboteur or inner critic seems to be able to wiggle and maneuver and whisper its way back into our psyche….and to the ways of being that keep us anchored in the past.

There are many that have yet to realize and become aware of the harmful effects that we suffer physically or mentally due to our emotional coping strategies, or lack of.

We have all been doing the best we can with what we knew.

AND WE CAN BEGIN ANEW.

Start now, this day, making A different choice.  Small.  New.

Cat-like reflexes? Anyone?Anyone?

Cat-like reflexes? Anyone?Anyone?

Reactions? Adaptation? Flexibility?

Our life is our biography --- every choice every minute of every day.

Our biography becomes our biology --- health of mind, feelings and body.

October is the harvest season.

November is putting what we sow into our winter stores.

WINTER is the time for going within, into order to prepare our inner world planting for spring, then feeding through summer, and then again the next harvesting in October.

It is the cycles of the season – the wheel of the year – and a little bit of nurturing goes a long way. Everyday…becoming, evolving in our sacred self-vessel in life in rhythm with our divine nature. Always, all-ways at a pace that is justs right for US. Wherever we are in this now moment (Which is the only place and time we live - now) is okay. IT IS OKAY. It must become okay. Insanity: hoping and wishing that now is different.

LOL: it takes practice.

It’s never too late to show up different for Self.

It’s never too late to SOW, GLEAN and REAP all manner of worthiness and goodness and fun that has never been before😊

  • Put on your brave.

  • Put on your fierce.

  • You are not alone.

  • Self First.

  • Every morning upon awakening ask “ For MY best self,  what shall I do today? “

  • “Is this really for me?”  IF NOT,  Return-To-Sender.

  • This awakened state is DIVINE  >>> The Soul’s Voice, and our Soul is in Love with Us.

  • Every day is a new opportunity to return to our Soul’s Voice,  this is where love lives.
